Mission, Vision & Goals

OAKS is a caring community of volunteers recruited to help seniors live independently in happy, health, and safe environments.

Broad Overview

For seniors – the membership (55+) is $50 annually and OAKS works as a liaison to existing services. A senior could call OAKS asking for assistance with a need (e.g. household chore, transportation. OAKS then recruits volunteers that are available then make the connection with the member.

How is your age-friendly initiative structured?

Through the board of directors – they have worked diligently for the last 3 years in research to make this happen. They have created the structure for the foundation of this work.

They are a 501c3 and offer training for their volunteers.

Have had guidance from the village to village network - https://vtvnetwork.clubexpress.com/content.aspx?page_id=22&club_id=691012&module_id=238482&actr=4

Describe any partnerships you have developed?

Affordable housing education and development (AHEAD), churches, service organization (service link, senior center, summit (new retire community), and members.

What is the role of volunteers?

Volunteers are multi-generational giving aid to mission.

Establishing and operating OAKS will require the work of many dedicated people with all types of experience and skills. Whether you have a lot of time to give, or only a little, we can find a role that fits your schedule and interests. There are ample opportunities for fun and rewarding involvement. at OAK. Volunteers might make friendly visits; drive members to appointments; help with shopping, errands, or pet care; computer assistance; or do minor home repairs.
