Past Webinar: No Fear Advocacy
Wednesday, November 30, 2016 – 12:00pm – 1:30pm
If we’re going to help older adults age well at home in rural northern New England, we may need to create new systems of housing, transportation and direct care. And, we will have to protect the benefits that help older folks meet basic needs like food, heat and medicine. As we engage in conversations about these issues in State Houses and town meetings, older adults need a strong voice in the process advocating for them.
As a community leader or staffer in a community organization, your voice is critically important to advancing strong public policy that supports healthy aging. But advocacy can be scary if you don’t understand the process and your role in it. Join advocates and former legislators from across our region to find out what it takes to be an effective advocate and why your voice matters. This webinar will give our grassroots advocacy network the tools they need to take action!
