Past Webinar: Beyond the Numbers
Tuesday, Oct 24, 2017 12:00 PM - 1:30 PM EDT
Let’s face it: evaluating the impact of your work on the quality of life of individuals and communities is no easy task. We count numbers of people who come to our activities, quantify the hours we spend providing services or track the amount of money we save through volunteer efforts. But then what? How do we know what kind of impact our efforts have on the lives of individuals, or on our community as a whole?
Enter qualitative research. While not a magic bullet, looking at the impact of our work through the lens of qualitative research can help us “know and show” the value of our work. But what is qualitative research and how can we use it in our communities? And, how do we use qualitative data to effectively tell the story of the impact our work is having?
Through this webinar, we will explore the various methods of evaluating our impact:
- How do we collect stories, and once collected, what do we do with them?
- What are the questions we should be asking to understand impact?
- What stories can our existing data tell?
- What audiences need to hear them?
Join us as we tackle these questions and more with:
Jane Nyce, Board member, VtVNetwork; Advisory Group, Home to ME Program, and
Laura Davie, Project Director at the New Hampshire Institute for Health Policy and Practice and co-director of the Center on Aging and Community Living.
We hope you will join us!
