Fostering Connections to Nature for Lifelong Fun and Learning (June 29, 2021)
Additional Resources

For many of us, getting outside and into nature can have an uplifting and healing effect on our overall health. According to the National Poll on Aging, people who spent time outdoors at least a few times per week over the last year were less likely to report feeling a lack of companionship or feeling isolated. It’s clear that engaging a connection with nature has proven to be a positive influence on our minds and our bodies in many ways – not only physically, but emotionally and socially as well. From outdoor playgrounds and accessible walking trails to creative nature-based programing, many communities are looking to find ways to promote and engage the natural world in our daily lives. On June 29th from 12:00 to 1:30pm, we’ll be hearing from a few communities and programs across northern New England who are offering exciting and innovative nature-based experiences and learning opportunities for older adults.

Are you a part of a community or initiative that is offering nature-based programming? We welcome you to join us to share about your efforts! As with all of programming at the TSLCA, we learn from each other and invite you to share during this interactive webinar and discussion. We hope to see you there!
