The Village Network
Covers: Nashua, Hudson, and Litchfield in Hillsborough County, NH
Start Date: September, 2014
Mission, Vision & GoalsThe mission of The Village Network is to help older residents to continue living independently in their own homes by coordinating the provision of comprehensive, high quality and affordable home management services.
Broad Overview
The Village Network is an innovative solution for those who want to remain independent. For an annual membership fee, members receive support from experienced, trustworthy local providers, affordable services and peace of mind in knowing that members can depend on the quality of services in the Village Network.
How is your age-friendly initiative structured?
The Village Network has a Board of Directors and a business plan including bylaws.
Describe any partnerships you have developed?
The Village Network has a partnership with the Nashua Senior Activity Center. The Village Network pays for membership to the Senior Center for Village Network members.
What is the role of volunteers?
When a Village Network member calls with a need, our first attempt is to fill the need with a volunteer. If the service is beyond the scope of our volunteers, then the member is referred to our preferred providers, many of whom offer discounts to Village Network members.
Strategies that have contributed to your success? Barriers you have encountered?
The fact that The Village Network is under the Life Coping, Inc. umbrella has contributed to the success of the initiative. Life Coping is a successful case management agency that has been in business for 20 years and is well-known and respected in the communities that our initiative serves.
